Choose models and save a default preset

The model selector on the New case screen shows which models can be used for the current case and plan.

Read model capabilities

Before sending, check the indicators for:

• Maximum images supported in one turn.
• Reasoning support.
• Zero data retention compatibility.
• Premium access requirements.

A hard image-limit warning means the model cannot accept the current image count. A soft warning means the request may fail. Remove images or choose another model.

If Enforce ZDR is enabled, select only compatible models. See Privacy, PHI protection, and ZDR.

Save your preferred selection

After choosing models, open the preset actions beside the model selector:

• Save current as preset stores the current selection for new cases.
• Use preset reapplies the saved selection after you make changes.
• Use default preset replaces your saved choice with RadAIChat’s recommended defaults.

If a saved model becomes deprecated, disabled, incompatible with ZDR, or unavailable on your plan, replace it before sending. Legacy models can appear in the More models submenu.

Set reasoning effort

Open Settings → Model → Reasoning effort to choose the default effort for supported models. Higher effort can take longer but may produce stronger results. Models without reasoning support ignore this control.
